Prof. Avi Sagi Wins Bialik Prize

Congratulations to Prof. Sagi on winning the prestigious literary award

Professor Avi Sagi, of Bar-Ilan University's Department of General Philosophy, was awarded the prestigious Bialik Prize for 2022.

Prof. Sagi has written and edited more than 40 books and hundreds of articles in the fields of general and Jewish philosophy, halacha, literary research, and cultural criticism. In addition, he is a research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute's Kogod Research Center for Contemporary Jewish Thought, editor of the book series "Interpretation and Culture," and co-editor of the "Democratic Culture" journal.

The Bialik Prize, named after Israel's national poet Hayim Nahman Bialik, is an annual literary award that has been given by the Tel-Aviv municipality since 1933. The prize is awarded to Israeli writers and researchers in recognition of their accomplishments. Previous winners of the prize include Prof. Nechama Leibowitz, Prof. Martin Buber, and Prof. Yehuda Liebes
