Graduate Programs in Contemporary Jewry

Offering MA and PhD degrees, this program focuses on comprehending the multifaceted Jewish world of the 20th and 21st centuries, strengthening Jewish identity and survival through knowledge.

Students learn about major issues in contemporary Jewish society, meeting with leading academic and public figures in the Jewish world. Program graduates will combine an understanding of burning Jewish dilemmas with a commitment to developing modern Jewish life.

The interdisciplinary - and highly relevant - nature of the program is best demonstrated by its research projects, among which are: Israeli attitudes to civilian casualties in the war on terror; anti-Semitism and Jewish life in the Argentine; social welfare and education in Israel’s development towns; and museums of the Holocaust: their history and artistic policies, among others.
