School of Graduate Studies

The School for Graduate Studies handles all MA and PhD study tracks offered at Bar-Ilan. The objective of the School is to bolster research in the university and absorb students of the highest caliber, by creating a cultivating academic and social environment.  The School aims to promote and develop new research curriculums for the students, support their work and provide all the equipment and knowledge required for their continued academic and scientific advancement.

The School of Graduate Studies provides guidance and mentorship for all its students throughout their tenure at Bar-Ilan, and continues to support them in their endeavors outside the University, whether they choose and academic, professional or scientific career.  Furthermore, the School of Graduate Studies provides services to students in all areas, including scholarships, counseling, research workshops, scientific mentoring, career counseling and more.

The School of Graduate Studies is supervised by the Academic Standing Committee, comprised of 20 senior BIU faculty members from all faculties and disciplines at the university.  The Academic Standing Committee is one of the university's Senate committees, and is headed by Prof. Gil Epstein, Dean of the School for Graduate Studies. The Committee includes different sub-committees in various areas, such as: registration, approving PhD and thesis research proposals for, approval for PhD and thesis papers, status issues, exceptional cases, scholarships, etc.
