Description
Data & Systems Security is responsible for determining the computerized information security policy at Bar-Ilan University. The Database Law stipulates that a public body is obligated to appoint a systems and data security manager.

Areas of Responsibility

Preventing damage to the university's computing resources.

Preventing information leakage from the university to external entities.

Handling complaints from outside the University, regarding data and system security.
The Unit's Goals

Determining procedures for the protection of the communication systems.

Determining procedures for the protection of PCs, including educating and training the users, in order to ensure data security is maintained.

Determining demands for the entry of equipment and software into the university, to ensure data security is maintained.

Approving projects and new equipment for use at the university.

Handling complaints from outside the university, involving this matter.
