Finance and Personnel Systems
Human Resources (HR) On December 2002 Bar-Ilan university launched its first ERP system: "Comprehensive Human Resources" The system which manages: · Academic and administrative employee personal files. These files, incorporate all employment-related organizational processes from the moment the employee joins the organization. · Manpower budgets. The system, which is based on Oracle-Applications infrastructure, was defined, designed, developed and implemented by the section's team. The system is used by Human Resources and in the various faculties, and also serves the university's comptroller, the rector's office and the finance division. Finance Systems The section is responsible for defining, developing and supporting the university's financial systems. The systems are based on the Walker software package, which was purchased and is maintained by the section. Walker software supports the main ledger and many adjoining systems have been developed by the section's staff. Information systems and services dealing with financial matters: · Ledger (balance sheet management, profit and loss reports, bank reconciliation, suppliers and clients, etc.) · University Budget Management (planning and control) · Supplier Management System (including a voice response system for suppliers) · Client Management System (producing invoices and tracking payments) · Payment System for Israel and abroad (printing checks for Israel and abroad, bank transfers, transfers to a banking clearing center) · Fundraising System (managing donors and donations) · Research Management System service provided to support the Research Authority, including service to researchers over the Internet · Cashier's Office System serving the treasury, libraries and more · International Travel System managing the travel portfolios of the administrative and academic staff (continuing education programs, sabbaticals, etc.) · International Science Relations Fund Management System, including a service enabling reporting to fund members over the Internet · Student Loan Management System · Interfaces and reports to internal and external entities (Universities' Planning and Budgeting Committee, Central Bureau of Statistics, Internal Revenue Service, etc.) Wages and Time and Attendance System The section's staff supports two systems that were purchased from Hilan-Tech and are installed at the university a wages system and an employee time and attendance system. The staff is responsible for producing the monthly wages, operating the connection between the employee time clocks and the system, and the various reports from both systems.
