The Azrieli School of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University forms the heart of a new academic and technologically-oriented community that is revitalizing academic and medical presence in the north while ensuring a higher standard of living for all Israel’s citizens.

The Bar-Ilan School of Medicine is an integral part of life in the community of the Galilee, involved in science enrichment programs for the young, preventative medicine, promotion of health and wellness, and in saving the environment.

The objective of the School is to train physicians who integrate general fundamental knowledge and understanding of basic medical science and clinical medicine. To provide the students with sufficient background to aid and stimulate their continuous advancement as primary care physicians / specialists and/or medical researchers in the fields of bio-medicine, as well as conveying their commitment to the community in general and the population of northern Israel in particular. Medical studies are also conducted in the ambulatory medical centers around the Galilee along with epidemiological and clinical research.

Employing the most advanced teaching methods, including a unique training course for doctors who run the School’s clinical program in affiliate hospitals, theoretical knowledge is transformed into practice by students during their clinical work in area hospitals and community health clinics.

The pre-clinical studies are conducted in a novel, integrative, multi-disciplinary approach by a series of teaching units – "clinical arenas" – in which the different fields are integrated according to the normal biological and pathological processes. The program couples a strong curriculum of basic medical sciences with clinical education.

The School’s innovative approach to disease-targeted research provides realistic and practicable solutions to specific human illnesses, such as cancer, infectious and age-related diseases, while it also engages in interdisciplinary research in the humanities, medicine and public health.

The Azrieli School of Medicine offers three study tracks:
A four-Year MD study track for first-degree holders
A three-year MD study track for Israelis who completed three years of medical schools abroad
An MSc- Research study track
