Celebrating National Science Day and Albert Einstein's birthday, Bar-Ilan University hosted one thousand Israeli Jewish and Arab seventh to twelfth graders from junior high and high schools throughout the country.
Prof. Yuval Garini, Director of the Bar-Ilan Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA), welcomed participants. "We are dedicated to sharing our scientific activities with the community-at-large. As part of this commitment, we are happy to host you here within the framework of National Science Day, coordinated by the Ministry of Science and Technology," said Prof. Garini.
This year's events focused on the innovative technologies being developed every day at BINA's laboratories. Each of the nine floors at the Gonda (Goldschmied) Nanotechnology Triplex, home of BINA, featured activities such as a science show, scientific demonstrations, cracking scientific codes, building DNA models, and more. A marathon of TED-style lectures in biology, biotechnology and physics also took place.
