Life Sciences Professor Earns International Recognition

Prof. Yossi Steinberger, of the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences, is the recipient of a Professional Achievement Award from the Soil Ecology Society (SES). The prize was awarded at the 2011 SES meeting, held at the University of British Columbia.
"We applaud your many scientific contributions and enthusiastic support of the field of Soil Ecology throughout your career," wrote the immediate past president of SES, in an invitation to Prof. Steinberger to accept the award.
Prof. Steinberger heads the Land Systems Research Laboratory. His research deals with microbial population dynamics and its diversity in soil, organic matter accumulation and decomposition in terrestrial ecosystems, dynamics of protozoa in soil, biological processes in natural and man-made ecosystems, global climate change effect of biological processes in soil, and more.
The SES is an international organization of researchers, students, environmental professionals and others interested in the advancement and promotion of soil biology and ecology.
