
Bar-Ilan is home to many internationally-based programs that attract students the world over. In addition the University has a number of exchange programs in which students study abroad, both actually and virtually.
The Preparatory Program (Mechina) & Ulpan
The Mechina is a special study program for New Immigrants (Olim Chadashim) and tourists, run in conjunction with the Student Authority at the Israel Ministry of Absorption. This program is intended for immigrants or tourists who have completed their high school education overseas. The aim of the program is to prepare overseas students for higher education in Israel, and to instill them with the knowledge of Hebrew (through the Ulpan program included within the Mechina), Jewish history and traditions, and Israeli culture and customs.
The Bar-Ilan Postbac Premed Program
Bar-Ilan offers a postbaccalaureate premed program to college graduates and highly-motivated career changers who never took premed courses, affording them the opportunity to complete preparation for medical school in the USA, dental school, veterinary school, or nursing school in just one year, in English. This innovative one-year program prepares college graduates to pursue careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, nursing, audiology, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, psychology, rehabilitation science, and other health professions.
The International B.A. Program in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences
Bar-Ilan University’s International BA Program in Intedisciplinary Social Studies presents aspiring students with new and exciting options for studying in Israel in the English language. This Program enables students to combine studies in diverse fields in order to promote academic thinking and analysis. Students can choose between the Micro Track (Criminology, Psychology, Sociology), which develops their ability to understand and investigate the functioning of the individual in an insightful manner, and the Macro Track (Economics, Political Science, Sociology), where they gain a comprehensive perspective on the business cultures prevalent in society, and enhance their capabilities to succeed in today's global world.
The International BA Program in Communications
This Program is offered by Bar-Ilan University's School of Communications, one of the most prestigious of its kind in Israel. The International BA Program in Communications, taught entirely in English, enables students to major in communications and minor in political science, while focusing on two primary areas of study: Public Diplomacy and Public Relations and Marketing. In addition, students gain practical experience through the BIU International Broadcasting Services. Student are encouraged to participate in the activities of the Center for International Communication (CIC), the Center for Law and Communication, the Center for Communication and Religion, the Center for New-Media, and the Israeli Media Research Center. The Professional Training department offers a wide variety of workshops in areas such as new media, advertising, public relations, and broadcast media.
The Israel Experience Program
The One Year Program for Overseas students, titled "The Israel Experience", offers the benefits of a relatively small, intimate program (limited to 100 English-speaking students), combined with the resources an infrastructure of a top-notch University.
Bar-Ilan - Yeshiva University Summer Science Internships
This exciting program enables talented undergraduate science majors to work in the research group of one of Bar-Ilan's distinguished faculty members in the biological and/or physical sciences at the Bar-Ilan Campus in Ramat Gan. For more information about the program click here.
Erasmus Mundus AcadEmic Network - EDEN
"EDEN - Erasmus Mundus AcadEmic Network" fosters institutional co-operation in the field of higher education between the European Union and non-EU countries through a mobility scheme addressing student and academic exchanges for the purpose of studying, teaching, training and research.
The Israeli partners are among the very prestigious HEIs in the world and make an excellent coverage both of the top-level academic institutions in Israel and of types of institutions, regions and needs in the country.
The associate partners will complement the dissemination of the project and create synergies with student and local communities in support of EDEN activities.

MA in Creative Writing
Since its inception in 2002, the Shaindy Rudoff Graduate Program in Creative Writing has attracted dozens of local Anglo Israelis, Diaspora Jews and writers from around the world to spend a year (or longer) in Israel, honing their creative skills in English with the guidance of leading poets and fiction writers, in a context both Jewish and creative.
IMBA Program
The International MBA Program at the S. Daniel Abraham Center of Economics and Business is a one-year program, taught entirely in English. Students are given a global perspective, together with real world applications, that allows them to master the complexities of today's increasingly more sophisticated world of business. Graduate Program in Linguistics in Clinical Research
This program offers an M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics in Clinical Research within the linguistics program already offered in the English Department. The studies greatly deepen the students’ understanding of how language works and deal with issues important to clinicians working in Israel, including bilingualism, dyslexia, and first and second language acquisition.
